Person Centred & Attachment Based Psychotherapist. Work Place Crises, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Corporate & Individual Course Design.

A few words about myself

I am an Attachment Based Psychotherapist and have been working with individuals both privately and in a corporate setting for over 15 years. My motivation is to provide a relationship whereby you can safely explore your inner world and become empowered to live a full and authentic life. I try to see the world through your eyes and perspective and place a strong emphasis on being client led. In other words, I am guided by you regarding the issues you want to explore and the pace of our work together.  My aim is to help provide a safe environment to facilitate your journey of self-exploration and assist you to find clarity on the issues that arise.

I am aware that sharing your problems can feel quite daunting, particularly if it’s the first time, and I believe a good working relationship between counsellor and client is essential. My hope is that you will experience me as being genuine, sincere and accepting, and our first meeting will be an opportunity for us both to see how we relate to each other. I work in an open ended way, with no time limitations, or for an agreed time period if preferred.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a degree in Person Centred Counselling from Metanoia Institute and have also completed a PG Diploma in Attachment Theory.  Working with attachment issues can develop an understanding of how early relationships can influence the way we relate throughout our lives.  I also hold a certificate in Group Work and in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I have a lot of experience in work place and crises counselling and, through my ongoing work within an international airline, have gained a thorough understanding of aviation psychology.  I also design and facilitate courses in Counselling Skills, Empathy and Emotional Resilience, at a corporate or more individual level.

As a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, I work within their Ethical Framework of Good Practice. In adherence to these guidelines and to ensure I am working professionally, I am committed to my ongoing professional development and undergo regular supervision of my work.
