A few words about myself
There are certain times when we can all find life overwhelming and full of obstacles. If you are suffering from depression, relationship issues, distress or anxiety, it can help to talk things through with someone impartial to your situation to help you work out how to deal with negative thoughts and feelings and make positive changes.
I recognize the primary importance of the relationship between client and counsellor and endeavour to create a warm, safe and supportive environment. In sessions you are encouraged to talk through your concerns. Through listening, understanding, gently questioning and challenging at times, I facilitate a deepening of your own insights, by working through your primary concerns and expanding your potential options.
My training focused on integrative relational counselling, which means that I draw on a range of theories to support our work together and find the ones that seem to work best for you. I have experience in working with adults of all ages, ethnicities and sexual orientations.
I normally wish to see you for a 50 minute session once a week. This can be either short term such as a 12-session contract or can be open-ended depending upon your needs.
In addition to my private practice I work as a volunteer counsellor within the NHS. I am also currently an honorary research assistant at Imperial College London and a member of the Psychedelic research team.
I am a member of the BACP and abide by their code of ethics.
