A few words about myself
Hello and welcome! I am Madeleine and I am a Psychosynthesis counsellor. My aim as a psycho-spiritual counsellor is to offer a reflective, non-judgemental and confidential space. I am committed to meet you where you are and provide a safe container to explore any issues or feelings that may be challenging or difficult for you at this moment in time.
All is welcome to be explored in the therapy room, such as your anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues or loneliness. I particularly can relate to the challenges of being born as a 1st generation immigrant child and the confusion it may bring about your sense of identity and belonging. Therefore, I particularly enjoy working with clients who want to explore cultural, self-esteem or identity issues and/or traumas.
I meet clients for 50/55 minute counselling sessions on a one-to-one basis or as couples. Sessions are held weekly and depending on your needs from therapy, we can agree to meet short-term to address a specific issue or long-term for deeper explorations of themes and patterns in your life.
What is Psychosynthesis
Psychosynthesis is a psycho-spiritual approach and draws its influences from most popular psychology approaches out there today as well as far Eastern philosophies, which makes it a well-rounded and all inclusive model. Psychosynthesis looks at our personal struggles as pathways to deepen our understanding for personal and spiritual growth, rather than something we ought to fix or push away. Through engaging with all parts of ourselves, which includes paying attention to our body, feelings, mind and spirit, we endeavour to connect with a greater sense of wholeness, intuition and creativity to awaken a deeper sense of who we truly are.
Getting in touch
I offer a free 15 minute session to get an understanding as to why you are coming to therapy. I will then suggest an initial session to allow us to get to know each other and to get a better overview of your life experiences and relationships so far. Our initial session will then give you the opportunity to evaluate whether you will be comfortable working with me as a therapist.
